Spanish post-punk outfit Belako have returned with another single from their upcoming album Plastic Drama (due for a delayed release on August 28^th, 2020). ‘Profile Anxiety’ is “a pop song of epicurean intensity. It’s about how we admire, idolise and worship celebrity profiles on social media platforms. They occupy our memory & appear in our dreams, to the point where we think we know these people on a personal level”. Grungy guitars and loud drums form the accompaniment, but it is the powerful vocal performance from Cristina Lizarraga that really stands out- she keeps the heavy track catchy and accessible throughout, treating us to some truly magical held notes at times.
